Nathan Laing now a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) on the Gold Coast

During the lockdown period, many of the Barristers and Mediators at French Quarter Chambers have taken the opportunity to upskill and provide a broader range of services to the Gold Coast.

I’m excited to announce that I am now an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or ‘FDRP’.

Family dispute resolution is a specialist area of dispute resolution regulated at a national level. As a Nationally Accredited mediator, I undertook further specialist training at Bond University’s Dispute Resolution Centre over several days, before consolidating this training in 50 hours of supervised mediation practice. FDRP training is directed at post-separation parental conflict.

FDRP’s are also able to provide Section 60I certificates (being, in reference to section 60I of the Family Law Act 1975). A section 60I certificate allows people to file an application in family law matters. For more information on section 60I certificates, please consider the Attorney-General’s Department’s fact sheet.

I am able offer competitive mediation and FDRP rates for price-sensitive clients. If you have any questions, or if I may be of service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me, or Practice Manager, Ms Noelene Nel, on (07) 5618 8218.
